 Being an intercessor is an important responsibility, and the prayer team at BCK takes this as God's Word very seriously.First of all, we must go to scripture to find out how to pray. Luke 11:2 says: "And He said to them, when you pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name..." (We understand by this, that we are to go to the Father first)..."Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven". Romans 8:26, 27 says "For we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us according to the will of God." We are to pray according to His will, not ours. Mark 11:25: "When you stand praying, forgive if you have ought against any that your Father also may forgive you your trespasses". This says our prayers may be hindered by any unforgiveness in our life or hearts. 1 Thes. 5:17: "Pray without ceasing". This means that we should pray about everything. We should also make our requests known to God in prayer. "...and the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ". (Phil. 4:6, 7) We see in James 5:15, 16 that we are to pray for healings: "The prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise him up. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much". These are just a few scriptures of how and why we are to pray. There are many more in the Bible. The main reason we at BCK pray is to draw us closer to God. Our prayer time with Him, be it corporate or by ourselves in our prayer closet, draws us into a more intimate and personal relationship with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. And there isn't a better reason to pray than that!   We welcome your prayer requests and will come into agreement and/or war with you as you seek God’s face concerning your needs. We also appreciate praise reports for answered prayer; only so we can join with you in THANKING HIM.
